#2 Kanye West x MPC 2000XL
The concept for this series was heavily inspired by Kanye’s “Runaway” performance at the 2010 VMA’s. This was actually supposed to be the first release of the collection but I had gotten kind of tired Kanye taking over my timeline and appearing in all the headlines, so I pushed it back.
Kanye West x MPC 2000XL
It was difficult to pick just one version of Kanye to portray because he has evolved with every album, so I ultimately decided to bring it back home to the beginning: polo/ button up with the Roc-a-fella chain, The College Dropout days.
The MPC 2000XL is probably one of the most inspirational pieces of gear for me, personally. The MPC, in general, ultimately made me fall in love with sampling, and I believe this particular version was a main staple in Ye’s process for many years (not sure what he uses today).
Printed on Fine Art Giclée.
Enhanced Matt Paper.
192 gsm
Print only (without frame).
Edition of 50
